Hacking the Lock

Securing information is not only about logical data protection but it’s also a concern of physical security. That’s why for the first b.o.f. of this year we decided to train lockpicking and its techniques.

Lets start with some terminology.

First of all what do you need to start lockpicking:

- A lockpicking set 37.95$
- Talented fingers

During this session we were focus on pin tumbler lock or also called cylinder locks. A pin tumbler lock is composed of pins (no pin’up ), driver-pins and spring-loaded.

We could lay out you all techniques and tips but we think that a video is worth a thousand words.
